Worried about your PDF documents being printed, copied, or tampered with? This tool allows you to precisely control PDF access and operation permissions by setting a user password (open password) and an owner password (permissions password). PDF permissions act as a security mechanism that uses encryption and metadata modification to restrict actions such as print resolution, content copying, text editing, form filling, and adding comments.
Q: How can I completely remove all permission restrictions from a PDF?
A: To remove restrictions, leave the owner password field blank and check all the allowed permissions boxes.
Q: How compatible are these permissions across different PDF readers?
A: Our permission settings are based on Adobe standards and are compatible with most readers. However, some mobile apps may display them differently. We recommend verifying the results using Adobe Acrobat.
Please keep your owner password safe; if lost, you will not be able to modify the permissions later. Avoid uploading corrupted PDF files, and ensure a secure network environment when processing sensitive documents. Files are automatically deleted from our servers after processing, but we still advise against uploading highly sensitive content.
For contracts, we recommend using a "No Editing + Low-Resolution Printing" combination. This allows the document to be reviewed while preventing high-quality duplication. Typical setup: User password "Open123" to control access, and owner password "Admin456" to restrict printing and editing. The output document will display a "Secured: Password Protected" status in Acrobat.
