When merging scanned documents or converting file formats, PDFs often retain empty pages with no real content. This tool uses pixel-level analysis with a dual-parameter criteria: Threshold (default 10) and White Percentage (default 99.9%). Pages where the white pixel percentage exceeds the set value and the content density is below the threshold are identified as blank pages and removed, outputting an optimized PDF with no redundant pages.
How do I handle "pseudo-blank pages" with watermarks?
Lower the white percentage to around 95% to prevent pages with light watermarks from being mistakenly identified as blank pages.
Why weren't the blank pages in my PDF removed?
Short answer: Check if the threshold is too high. Detailed explanation: If the page contains a small amount of text or lines, you need to lower the threshold to below 5 and ensure the white percentage is set reasonably.
For scanned documents, it is recommended to correct the deskew using professional software first. For PDFs with complex backgrounds, lower the white percentage. After processing, we recommend manually reviewing the table of contents or index to ensure they are unaffected.
Technical document processing example: Setting Threshold=8 and White Percentage=98% effectively filters out edge margins in scanned documents while preserving footer page numbers. For batch processing, we recommend splitting large files first; processing no more than 15 pages at a time yields the best recognition accuracy.
