When you want to turn exciting moments from short videos into looping animations, a Video to GIF tool can quickly convert MP4, MOV, and other formats into 256-color GIF animations. GIF (Graphics Interchange Format) uses the LZW compression algorithm to convert a sequence of video frames into a lightweight, auto-playing animation file, which is especially suitable for converting 3 to 10-second short video clips.
Q: Why are the colors distorted in my converted GIF?
A: Because the GIF format only supports 256 colors. We recommend choosing video clips with simpler color palettes.
Q: How long does it take to convert a 1-minute video?
A: The conversion speed is proportional to the video length. A 1-minute video takes about 30-60 seconds to process. We recommend trimming it to a core clip of under 10 seconds.
We recommend using source videos that are ≤30 seconds in length and ≤50MB in size. The converted GIF file will have the audio track removed. Please avoid uploading videos containing sensitive content.
Typical conversion example: Converting a 15-second cat video (MP4, 720p) into: ① a 5-second GIF at 480p/15 fps (approx. 3MB) or ② an 8-second GIF at 240p/10 fps (approx. 1.5MB). We recommend balancing image quality and file size based on your use case; prioritize loading speed for social media sharing.
